Fashion Collaboration consists of eleven new collections and communication concepts for AW2018. They all take their starting point in Sweden’s most interesting accessories brands – ATP Atelier, Anna-Karin Karlsson, Baron, Handskmakaren, Horisaki and Märta Mattsson. These brands represent expertise and a transformation of accessories, but they also represent a wide range within the field of accessories, from small independent brands to larger-scale ones.
The collections have been designed by students from the Fashion program at Beckmans, and they relate in various ways to the design worlds of the brands, but with the student designers contributing with their own form of artistic expression. Movement, tailoring, format and sustainability have been examined as have terms like fear, moving between two worlds, masculine ideals, “underwater utopias” and daring to go one’s own way.
The fashion students’ collection concepts along with the design worlds of each of the accessory brands have provided the starting point of independent interpretations, using images or moving images, created by students from the Visual Communication program.
The result is fashion communication that explores what fashion image can be based on new technology as well as contemporary artistic and social issues.
We are showing eleven collaborative fashion visions for the future.
